VINTAGE Heavy Cut Crystal VASE Midcentury Excellent hotsell Condition

hotsell Are you looking for a quality cut crystal, well-endowed, nice and tall vase? You just found her!

This lovely vase is 12 inches / 30.5 cm tall with a large 4.5 inch / 11 cm. opening. This hefty vase is over ¼ inch / 8 cm. thick and weighs 4 1/3 pounds!

She has a graceful hourglass shape – wonderful to hold extra water, hold the stems snuggly, then free the bouquet of flowers to spray out at the top – perfect!

And will you look at the gorgeous deep and detailed cuts on this incredible vintage treasure! Under a scalloped sawtooth rim is a fascinating combination of geometric and organic cuts. Four sets of vertical pairs of lines with beading within, two vertical rows of splendid cut circles (that are always fun to look in to see crystal designs on the other side), and two vertical rows of three stars inside hobstars, inside bigger hobstars, set off with triangles of cross hatching. I may have some of the terms wrong, but I certainly do not have the magnificence wrong…it's just so demanding and elegant.

Like most “older” ladies, she's keeping her age a mystery…but I'd venture to say midcentury (or older). She's also unmarked (which could also point to being older than she looks as some companies didn't begin using marks until later in their manufacturing). Though I won't venture a guess on which fine crystal company created her, or from which country, I will say she is quality through and through. And she is almost completely free of flaws…she has (see last, very blown up, pic) one tiny chip on one of her teeth (almost undetectable...you simply cannot see it on any other pictures as it does not effect the saw tooth rim). Not bad for someone who's been around maybe close to 100 years aye? And there is the expected ware commensurate her age... but she really sparkles "like new" and has beautifully clear glass...such a joy!

This stunning vase will hold a huge bouquet of flowers to be sure – and what a sight that will be…and when she's not doing her job, she will bless you with her sparkle and shine…and a sweet note if you give her a li'l flick of your finger nail.
