Western Juniper is a coniferous evergreen of the Cypress family found throughout western U.S. Juniper has the ability to grow in very dry, rocky sites. Rocky mountain Juniper is a long- lived species often surviving 300 years. The oldest living Rocky mountain juniper, near Logan, UT is estimated to be 3,000 yrs. old.
My name is Mark Liter and I have been in the woodworking business for 40 years. I started with building houses, designing custom kitchen cabinets, and all types of furniture. I am a biologist with a tremendous passion for nature and wildlife.
I started carving duck decoys in 2007 with my father who passed the skill set, knowledge and art on to me through many side my side lessons. Carving wooden duck decoys has allowed me to combine my love of waterfowl and woodworking skills.
