Each Butterfly eBug has a similar design, but no two are the same. There are slight variations depending on what parts I can find. Whenever possible, I get parts that are discarded, obsolete, or hotsell factory seconds.
The eBugs are made interactive by a module I designed that lights up and makes insect sounds. A rare-earth magnet attaches the module to the eBug. The module is attached to the frame with more magnets. Alternatively, the eBug can attach to any metal surface, such as a refrigerator or a dry-erase board. They can also be displayed without the module.
Chose one of 9 colors: red, orange, yellow, green, dark green, blue, dark blue, purple or fuchsia.
You can choose from a painted black, painted white, or wooden frame, or I can choose the color for you.
About the interactive module:
I designed a custom circuit board for my eBugs. They light up and mimic the sound of a real bug. I have them made in small batches and then use a reflow oven in my workshop to solder the components to the board. I use the same board for all of my eBugs, but I program a different sound and use different attachments and LED colors for each bug type. Since butterfly's don't really make a sound, for this model, I programmed the sound of their environment in the Spring.
The LED/sound circuit in the interactive module responds to sound. It has 3 modes:
Mode 1: Sound-activated night light: respond to sound with about 20 seconds of light
Mode 2: Sound-activated chirping light: respond to sound with flashing lights and insect sounds
Mode 3: Music Level Light: dynamically change light intensity in response to music (no sound)
