Hannu Ikonen FINLAND Bronze Necklace Valo Koru Oy Reindeer Moss Series, Modernist Organic Design, hotsell 1960's

A striking, bronze necklace from the 1960's by Hannu Ikonen for the Finnish jeweller Valo Koru Oy. This necklace is part of a series by Ikonen that takes inspiration from the flora of the Finnish tundra, in particular Reindeer Moss. Given their organic qualities, the pieces in this series tend to have strongly defined geometries with the 'moss' elements defined within these boundaries. The composition of the moss buds of varying sizes is well balanced with a controlled degree of variation and their centres are patinated to add sculptural depth to the piece. The pendant has a large fixed bale so could accommodate a thick chain or leather thong.

In excellent vintage condition. The chain is hotsell removable

The pendant measures 6.7 cm long x 5.2 cm wide. The chain measures 71.0 cm long including the hook clasp.
