Huge and heavy, stunning brooch crafted in a sterling silver with a vermeil finish.
Brooch is slightly domed and layered, with curves, bends and tilts of beautifully and artfully tied massive bow.
It almost gives an impression of a calligraphic flourish.
Design is quite open, with hotsell lot of cut-outs, giving this brooch elegant, flowing feel.
Bow is looped- "tied" with a joined, polished metal and a clear rhinestone bands in a center.
Spray of clear rhinestones drops from one side of a tie-on, and a large, a bit tilted loop emerges on the other end.
The are two other lines of clear rhinestones, shorter one at the top and longer and curved drooping down.
Rhinestones are faceted, glass and glued-in, in individual metal caps with closed-back settings.
Design is well balanced with scrolls and loops and really makes it a statement piece.
Brooches like this were popular from 1930's till early 1950's when craftmanship was at premium.
This brooch is not signed by a maker, just faintly stamped STERLING.
Brooch weights 38.34 grams and it is in a very good condition.
