Bappi Lahiri - Disco Dancer LP
This was a hugely popular soundtrack to a hugely popular Bollywood film which made waves in India, USSR and South Asia. It's a rarity in the US. Crazy electro-pop music.
‘On a song basis the funky opener “I Am A Disco Dancer” and “Yaad Ah Raha Hai” a sort of Moroder/Tantra type electro-disco number are the highlights if I have to pick out a couple. Incidentally, the chorus from the last song, “Auva Auva Koi Nahan Nache” sounds a lot like that from “Video Killed the Radio Star” - and being that this was 1982 that would mean the Buggles came first!' - RateYourMusic.com, Vanguard
‘Crazy soundtrack....mix of disco, electropop and psychedelicism, of course the result is a very kitsch!' - RateYourMusic.com, Steaky
