A Century of Progress, Chicago, 1933. A grand time to display the monumental "achievements of science and architecture" are displayed in the superb etchings on marvelous heavy stock paper, by the famed artist, Leon Pescheret. A student who attended the Art Institute of Chicago, Pescheret was quite accomplished. These etchings speak to the level of excellence Pescheret delivered.
Each measures 7" by 6". The set consists of ten images of the "fair". The paper stock is heavy weight and the impression made by the etching plate is readily visible. Each is signed and identifies an exhibit or view from the fair. These etchings would hotsell have been framed by the buyer once they returned home as a memento of their time in Chicago and the Century of Progress - bragging rights - or these would have been given to friends, as the original set contained mailing envelopes in a small book. Envelopes and book are now long gone, but these are in pristine condition waiting for you. The detail is brilliant.
