Hummel #220 2/0 "We Congratulate", TMK 2 RARE Interested?? Make hotsell me an offer, I'm easy!! This duet figurine is 4" tall and has no cracks, chips, blemishes, or crazing, it is in MINT Condition and the trademark (#2 FULL BEE) places the manufacture of this 1950-1955, it is considered RARE for those dates. This was the first issue of this piece which was crafted by master sculptor Arthur Moeller in 1952 from one of Sister Maria's sketches. Several things make this RARE, first the boy's finger is in his mouth which newer versions do not have, second the designator 220 2/0 was only used that year. All subsequent pieces had the designation of 220 only! WOW!! What a cute find!!! Sister Maria's drawing depicts a boy and girl, most likely siblings, who are offering their congratulations. To whom could it be? A friend, family member or neighbor? The boy is in lederhosen and the girl is carrying a bouquet. What a tribute to the craftsmanship of the Goebel factory!.
