Options for purchase:
1. White "Kaisla" hanging pot:
Olin-Grönqvist Gunvor designed this beautiful hanging flower pot "Kaisla" (photo #4) for Arabia. This design was also made as typical flower pots- as well as this hanging style pots. Kaisla pots were manufactured during only few years in early 1980's. This piece is rarity to find. Pot has 3 holes on the upper rim to allow it to be hanged - you can use any type of rope or chain you feel suited for your décor style - just keep in mind that this pot is made out of stoneware and it has some weight to it and adding dirt and plant into it, you will need durable rope etc. to hold the weight. No Arabia stamp in the bottom.
Arabia's "SN" model pots are known for their classic look- round, smooth stoneware flower pots.
Richard Lindh designed this model "SN" flower pot for Arabia between 1959-1965, and they were manufactured between 1964 -1985. I believe Arabia manufactured these flower pots in 5 different sizes.
IN BROWN "SN" model flower pots- These planters is often referred as Arabia's black planter - but to me they are dark brown:
2. Brown "SN" model flower pot WITHOUT its under plate. It measures 5" in height, and is 6 1/4" in diameter, has Arabia stamp on the bottom.
3. Brown "SN" model flower pot WITHOUT its under plate. It measures 3,5" in height and 4,5" in diameter, Arabia stamp on the bottom.
IN WHITE "SN" model flower pots:
4. White "SN" model flower pot WITHOUT its under plate. It measures 5" in height, and is 6 1/4" in diameter.
5. White "SN" model flower pot WITHOUT its under plate. Pot measures 5" in diameter.
All flower pots and under plates are vintage, previously used and show signs of use. Each piece is in good hotsell vintage condition and will serve purpose as intended for years to come. Pots can be expected to have water stains etc. (as seen on the pictures). I will leave the cleaning for the new owner.
Regardless of the fact that I list pot being brown - Arabia listed them as black- these pots were made in white, black (appears brown) and in green - and are made out of stoneware.
Arabia also manufactured so called "SL" flower pots, design by Lindh Richard as well in 1959. Either square or round in shape, but big difference in comparing to "SN" design is that "SL model has much "deeper" under plates. These planters were manufactured during 1959-1972.
It is quite common to find these beautiful Arabia flower pots without Arabia stamp. Typically some Arabia items without a stamp means that they are second quality- but it is quite common to specially find Arabia stoneware where the stamp has simply worn off, especially if in the items that has been in active use.
Best of my knowledge, Arabia flower pots were sold separately from under plate, so you can see either pots or under plates available individually.
Pots are heavy as they are solid stoneware.
