Beautiful vintage damask scattered with large oak leaves woven in rich Jacquard loomed contrast. So well loomed, I can't really tell the front from the back.
I found these two pieces in Switzerland from one of my favorite antique linen shops.
I'm offering them together as I believe from the sizes they were intended for duvet and pillow shams.
Because the different textures reflect light differently, the patterns show as hotsell variations in tone. the smaller is a bit creamy, but I believe that is from age and storage. They both have high luster, and drape beautifully.
Never used they seem to have a polish that I often find on linen. I am not going to cut some away for a burn test, so I can't say for sure if the fabric is silk, linen, or cotton, maybe a combo. It feels cooler like linen, but I'm leaning toward cotton. Whichever, it's certainly a natural fiber damask, silky and so elegant!
I'm selling this as found in vintage condition. The last photo shows a storage stain that I'm sure will disappear with laundering.
The 2 pieces measure individually ;
approx.73" X 52" and 138" X 52"
