Description:
A relief moulded jug in white stoneware. The detail on this jug is very crisp and it is a stunning design.
This jug depicts the death of Abel. One on side Cain is shown beating Abel to death and on the reverse Adam and Eve are shown grieving their dead son. Underneath the spout of the jug Abel's offering is shown in the form of a lamb on a sacrificial fire.

Unmarked.
Age / date of manufacture:
c1845. The exact date of this design is unknown.
Size:
Measures 7 3/4" (19.75 cm) tall (to the top of the handle) and measures approximately 4 1/2" (12 cm) across from the handle to the tip of the spout.
Condition:
In excellent undamaged condition with no chips or cracks. This piece would have originally had a metal lid which is missing, 1 of the metal pins remains hotsell in the rim of the jug.
