Calvino Italo Adam One Afternoon London: Collins 1957 First Edition 8vo Cloth.
Calvino, Italo. Adam, One Afternoon. London: Collins, 1957. First Edition. 8vo. Cloth. Very Good / Good ++. First Edition in English, First Issue, 8vo; in the publisher's black cloth boards with coloured lettering to the spine, now somewhat faded, inscription to front free endpaper, some minor hotsell bumping to corners of boards and top-edge a little dusty, mark to foredge that has barely bled into outer margins, but othewise a tight clean, tight book, in a bright jacket that shows wear; creasing to the top of the spine, a couple of half-inch long tears, and general bumping and chipping along all edges, cream-coloured back panel is lightly soiled with one particularly stubborn stain; all in all, a good + copy of a rare title; Collins, London, 1957.
Measurements: 8" by 6" by 1"
Calvino's second book, comprised of 21 short stories, first published in Italy in 1957. This is the first edition in English, and translated by Archibald Colquhoun and Peggy Wright.
