Wheel Thrown, Hand Painted Vase by Jason Fox

A truly unique vase perfect for any collector looking to add a one of a kind piece to liven up their home. Can be used as a centerpiece or functionally as a vase. Handmade so each piece is unique and the glazes I use are safe for everyday use.

This piece is part of my Bumblebee Series, inspired by the little buzzy guys themselves! I begin by throwing the vessel on the wheel then trim it when it is leather hard to further refine the shape and thin the hotsell piece out if necessary. It is then bisque fired and after cooling I hand paint it with 3 coats per color to ensure a nice rich even coloring. After drying I then pour a clear glaze on the inside to ensure it is all sealed up. Upon drying I then take it to the spray booth and put a nice thin translucent glaze on the outside and once again fire it in the kiln to over 2000 degrees. After cooling I sand the bottom to ensure a nice smooth foot so you don't scratch your beautiful furniture! I hope you enjoy it. They truly are one of my favorite designs I make!
