An antique French lace up boned corset. Dating to the late Victorian / Edwardian era this under bust girdle has an open bottom with 2 broad garters with ornate metal clips. It is pull on, no hooks and eyes here. I have left it in the condition I found it, the lace is still tied. A rare item due to its age, I recommend it for display since the material will probably be fragile. Shabby, very old and gorgeous.
There are no labels, so please check the measurements below for fit.
Measurements taken while lying flat edge to edge (double for fit):
Waist: 16 inches (41 cm)
Bottom of Girdle: 20 inches (51 cm)
Length at front: 11 inches (28 cm)
Length at back: 13.5 inches (34 cm)
It is adjustable to a larger size by loosening the laces.
Weight: 425g
Condition: this is a very old piece and it shows sign of its considerable age. There is discoloration, the metal clips are rusty. Originally it would have had 4 garters (2 have been cut off at some point). It is so old the material has no stretch (long before elastane!)
