Homer Laughlin Eggshell Georgian Belmont pattern 20 piece dinnerware set in very good condition. hotsell Backstamp of K40NS places date of manufacture at Nov. 1940. Against an eggshell color background, this set has bordered embossing with gold trim on edges, on handles, and as inner concentric circles on each piece. Burnt orange scalloping surround sprigs of blue, orange, and yellow flowers with green foliage. Homer Laughlin started in 1871 in Ohio, then in 1903 moved to West Virginia. The company peaked in 1948, producing over 10 million dishes. The service for four includes four 9.75"(25cm) dinner plates, four 6.375"(16cm) small bowls, four 4"(10cm) coffee cups, and four 6"(15cm) saucers. The large platter is 13.5"(34.5cm) in length. Sugar bowl height with lid is 5"(12.5cm) and creamer height is 4"(10cm). Only imperfections I see are a scratch on the creamer transferware and small .5cm chip on the underside of two of the bowls. I see no other cracks, chips, repairs or crazing. See all photos. Some wear on the gold trim dinner plates. Very nice set for 80 years old. May consider selling pieces separately.
