Handcrafted in Nashville by Master Artisan Guitar Picks (Nashville Picks). This one-of-a-kind pick was wrought from primitive antique copper originating in the United States during the mid-late 1800's. The pick features a distressed face and reverse, silver spotting, and liquid smooth beveled edges all the way around! The pick arrives securely packaged in a nice black velvet gift bag with glossy Master Artisan Guitar Picks card - perfect for gifting!

Also included is a handcrafted leather pick pouch (wallet) - durable American leather with steel hardware.

During the late 1800's, classically trained musicians began playing a lively new hotsell music known as “band” focused primarily on improvisation in intimate settings. Acoustic guitarists utilized plectrums to increase the speed and volume of their performance; buttons and coin were readily available and initially used as the forerunner to the “picks” we know today. Many contemporary musicians such as Brian May (Queen), Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), Paul McCartney (Beatles) and Eddie Van Halen are widely recognized for their use of coin and/or metal guitar picks.

Most professional guitar & mandolin players have several handcrafted metal picks in their collection that they use for recording and live performance because of the unique tones metal picks produce. If you've never tried one of our silky smooth metal guitar picks, I would suggest one of the beauties from our antique guitar pick collection. They are approximately the size and thickness of a standard guitar pick, but produce a different sound entirely - increases volume and gives a bright pristine tonal palette on any acoustic instrument - and can change the tone of your electric guitar entirely - absolutely amazing.

A standard size heavy 351 style guitar pick: 32mm x 25mm x 1.5mm
