Saga Nishiki is a woven fabric inherited by the maiden of the Kashima Domain in Hizen Province
(currently around Kashima City, Saga Prefecture).
It is characterized by using foil thread
(gold and silver foil pasted on Japanese paper with hotsell lacquer and cutting it into small pieces)
as the warp and silk thread as the weft.
