Here is an extremely romantic pair of oval platters with this polychrome decoration with an elegant floral pattern made of a multitude of flowers in delicious shades of pink. These two small serving dishes are oblong with a slightly scalloped edge and the handles are enhanced with gold. This pair of platters is in French porcelain from Limoges, it's signed Leon Sazerat. This French "Raviers" perfectly illustrates the art of the table and its refinement in 19th century France.

The decorator and porcelain maker Léon Sazerat (1831-1891) is a former apprentice of the manufactures of Sèvres in France, he created his manufacturer in Limoges where he begins to produce fine porcelain in 1852, his associate stops his production in 1894.
Here, he associates his so refined and subtle style of the 19th century with the porcelain resale store of the French Company 78, rue Turbigo in Paris created by Emile Bourgeois.
Signature distinctive, period 1880.
