I fabricated this sterling silver ring and also cut, formed and polished the turquoise from rough stone as well. The bezel around the stone measures approximately 1 1/8" or 2.8cm tall and approximately 1/2" or 1.4cm wide.
This unique turquoise comes from a lot of rough stone I purchased directly from the miner. Like most turquoise miners, the guy is very secretive about the physical location of his mine and asked that I only disclose that it's in North America. He's only identified it to me as either "Hole #2 or Hole #3." When I asked about those names he told me that they found nothing when they dug their first hole "Hole #1" and that holes #2 & 3 are where they found the turquoise that I purchased. This mine is new and is yielding an amazing variety of turquoise that is quite unique. In the batch of turquoise that I purchased from him, he added some Kingman to meet my order weight limit. I suspect that the stone in this ring is from the Kingman mine.
