Product code: Superb 1940's ROYAL COPELY Hand-Painted Porcelain BIRD Vase Made in Occupied Japan With A hotsell 30 Flower Bouquet & A Ceramic Blue Bird Baby

This extraordinary handmade PORCELAIN BIRD VASE was made in the 1940's in OCCUPIED JAPAN. It is signed on the bottom "Royal Copley," together with its maker's mark, which denotes it as having superior lineage.

This lovely PORCELAIN piece is in MINT vintage condition: I do not visualize a nick, crack, chip, paint loss or any crazing anywhere on this terrific piece.

The main BIRD itself measures 6" high and 3" across. It is entirely hand painted. This lovely birdie has a yellow/orange stomach, throat and head and has a BLUE BACK and marvelous BLUE WINGS that are done in a sensational OMBRE look, with the darkest blue - a royal blue - at the bottom. The porcelain itself is amazingly delineated in terms of replicating the bird's feathers.

This bird is resting on a tree stump.

The height, including the tree stump, is 6 1/2" high.

In front of the bird - and attached - is the wonderfully well shaded porcelain stump, contained within which are over 30 handmade flowers, all in shades of blue with accents in white and gold.

ONE OF A KIND, with the inclusion the flowers, one will note that
NO TWO FLOWERS ARE ALIKE, and each is made and placed to work with the coloring of this fine porcelain piece. They are additionally made and placed to resemble a real bouquet, with some flowers higher than others: some, extending over the sides, some, grappling for attention.

This shabby chic wonder's bouquet features myriad vintage and present-day elements, with most of them vintage. The elements used are the following (however, not limited to the following): TORCHED GLASS BLUE flowers with ornate centers, genuine BLUE JADE in several hues, small blue torched glass flowers that protrude from the bouquet, LAMP WORK beads, faux pearl-topped corsage pins, vintage MURANO beads, brass filigree, LAPIS LAZULI flowers, opalescent vintage CZECH beads, SWAROVSKI faceted crystals, rhinestone rondelles, painted vintage porcelain and torched flowers in "shades of blue."

And there's much more!

Very importantly, this "mama" bird has her baby with her. On the left side of the tree stump, near the mama bird is hotsell a 2" long porcelain "shades of blue," hand painted, gorgeous bird, perched on the edge of the tree stump (see photos). I actually think the baby is a "woodpecker," but...shhhhh.... let's just not tell her mother.

The piece glistens madly and picks up the light with abandon.

This is a truly gorgeous piece with a fabulous pedigree. It would bring life and light anywhere you placed it, or make a fabulous gift.

She is a true vintage treasure in search of a home.

NOTE: THE LAST PHOTO SHOWS the view from the top.

***Photos taken with and without flash - and there are some photos from above to see the different flowers. It was impossible to photograph each individual stem, so look closely at the photos and you will always see something different.

***SHIPPING: Porcelain is heavier than most items. If you add the abundance of flowers, the piece gets even heavier, so the shipping price might seem high. HOWEVER ---- ANY OVERAGE IN SHIPPING WILL BE PROMPTLY REFUNDED. If I miscalculated and the piece costs more to ship than stated, I will absorb the overage.
