Fantastic antique piece found in an old trunk full of pieces ranging from the 1880s-1910s.
Solid gray body, lined, with faded cream, salmon and pale green embroidered trim.
Ballon sleeve gathered hotsell at the shoulder and big turned up cuffs.
It seems to be extremely well made. Admittedly I don't know much about clothing from this period, but this has no visible seams on the interior. The sleeve opening seam is folded over and whip stitched by hand for a nice finish.
Condition overall is great for the age. There are a few pin holes here and there. (a few slightly bigger on the on the left shoulder and front) but all seams are intact with no missing stitching. There are some areas of discoloration, mainly on the lining and front right bust, with a few spot on the right shoulder.
Please note this piece is being sold AS IS and has not been laundered. It does have a slight dusty old trunk smell to it.
Shown on a modern XS dress form. Please refer to measurements for accurate sizing:
shoulders: 15"
pit to pit: 17"
sleeve: 17"
cuff opening: 9" circumference
length: about 16"
