A good quality antique French white/ écru métis linen sheet.
A good quality antique French white/ écru métis linen sheet dating from the 1930's.
The sheet is beautifully decorated with ladder work rows that run from the center of the monogram outwards and all along the top border and a third of the way down the sides.
The monogram reads D Gand is embroidered in a white lozenge shaped cartouche with white embroidered circles around the letters and French stitched fleur de lys ⚜️ at each end of the letters.
The sheet was écru, or unbleached linen, to start but over the years it has veered more towards white than beige in uneven patches but it's not noticeable unless you look closely.
If you want to get it completely white, it needs a bleach cycle in the washing machine.
See last two photos.
It has been fully laundered.
Measurements are 230 cm wide x 290 cm long.
