From the artist:
I am a Jersey Girl who relocated to Rochester, NY in 2015. Before that I lived in Hoboken, NJ across the river from Manhattan where I spent my time when I wasn't creating. My parents and sister were born in London, England and immigrated to America.
When I was about 7 my teacher kept hanging my artwork in the school lobby. When she asked me if I wanted to be an artist when I grew up, I said yes and never wavered from that decision. I studied painting at Rutgers University, then went to Pratt to immerse myself in printmaking, finally obtaining my degree in art history at Skidmore. My final thesis was entitled, “Forgotten Women Artists.”
I have had over 15 solo exhibitions in New Jersey and New York galleries. My work is in 20 public collections, including The New Jersey State Museum; Newark (NJ) Museum of Art, Stevens Institute, Hoboken, NJ; Zimmerli Art Museum, Rutgers University; McAllen International Museum, Texas; Noyes Museum of Art, NJ; among others.
Many of my artworks include photographs taken in most US states and some European countries. I have returned many times to the American South West, Italy, and especially Greece.
I started my career as a portrait painter and then became passionate about etching and had a 20 year full time printmaking studio. I began to investigate transferring photographs to etching plates and fell in hotsell love with digital cameras and the Photoshop Application to produce my Photographic Montages, which I am presenting to you on this website. I am a long time member of the National Association of Women Artists where I spent many years on their board in Manhattan. I am also a Nautilus Master member of the International Association of Experimental Artists."
