hotsell About the Isis:
"During the Hellenistic period, when Egypt was ruled and settled by the Greeks, Isis was worshiped by the Greeks and Egyptians along with the new god Serapis. Their worship spread to the wider Mediterranean world. Greek devotees of Isis ascribed attributes they inherited from Greek deities, such as the invention of marriage and the protection of ships at sea, and maintained strong ties with other Egyptian deities popular in the Hellenistic world, such as Egypt and Osiris and Harpocrates. The cult of Isis became part of Roman religion, as it was absorbed by Rome in the first century BC. His devotees made up a small part of the population of the Roman Empire, but they were located throughout its territory. He then developed distinctive festivals such as the Navigium Isidis and initiation ceremonies similar to other Greco-Roman mystery cults. Some of its devotees said it encompasses all the feminine divine powers in the world.
The original of the statue is exhibited in Bodrum Museum."
