This pocket fruit knife is made with mother of pearl scales (sides) and a sterling silver blade showing assay marks for Sheffield 1907 and maker's marks for J.F. which we believe to be James Fenton. The knife has incised decoration to the mother of pearl scales as well as an inset silver cartouche with the owner's (?) name: A. Sharp. A fitting name, I think.
However, the blade shows some minor damage to the tip, another reason to use a fruit knife only for fruit and not to pry open someone's journal.
