Pisan Bali means returning once again. The history surrounding this motif has many versions. One source states that the motif symbolizes reconciled broken relationship. Another source states that this motif is inspired by relief of temples in Java to symbolize hopes and prayers. Originally created in Solo. There are stitches at the bottom (around 10 cm), small holes, and small tear on the edge of the fabric.

Used to be worn as daily clothing as breast wrapper for Indonesian women especially in Java island, before the more practical western style of blouse and Indonesian kebaya became daily clothing.
A handdrawn batik is produced through labourious work, started from hand sketching, applying wax painting on each dots and strokes to resist coloring, and accordingly successive coloring processes. Each piece can take up from 1-4 months of work depending on the complexity and sophistication of the motif.
