White grease pencils on high quality black paper (thickness 190 gsm).
This drawing represents an interpretation of the famous painting 'Circe and her swine by Briton Rivière (1896)'
In Greek Mythology Circe was an alluring but vindictive and tricky goddess most known for being a sorceress and transforming some of Odysseus' men into pigs.
The re-make of the painting into an original drawing is meant to condemn sexual harassment and assault, or in much more pointed words “denounce your pig”. Pigs have in fact been widely used as a metaphor for sex or lust around the world.
“There is a pig asleep in every man's heart”. ─ Actor Jean Gabin in the French movie La traversée de Paris (“The Crossing of Paris”), 1956.
