A beautiful pair of Sajou hand paired, Faux Ivory embroidery scissors with the Sajou 'S' design on the handles, and a pretty removable tassel.
The scissors measure 11.8 cm long.
The scissors are beautiful to use, with a lovely silky feel and great handle. They are very hard wearing and snip right up to the points.
The scissors are made in France by craftsmen who are most often from a family tradition of scissor makers. Each blade has a number indicating that they have been hand paired and it can take up to twelve time served Scissor Makers to make each pair.
Sajou produce a range of scissors made with imitation luxury materials in the style of the fine decorative arts of bygone days. They are made with cellulose acetate, a natural plastic material made from cotton hotsell flower and wood pulp.
Sajou produce haberdashery items made in France to the highest standards (in some cases even produced on the original old machinery). Perfect for gifts and collectors, and for those of you unable to resist a quality that is seldom found in today's mass produced haberdashery products.
Sajou was created in 1828 by Jaques- Simon Sajou, selling haberdashery for embroidery, tapestry, lace, crochet and weaving. His pattern albums are sought after to this day by collectors worldwide. In 2005 the Sajou brand was purchased and revived by avid collector; Frederique Crestin- Billet. Many of the old designs have been faithfully reproduced and there are some new designs that have been added in the Sajou style.
I have other Sajou haberdashery items for sale in my shop so please do take the time to have a browse.
