THE TINIEST HALF DOLL
A TINY porcelain Half doll sitting in a tiny shoe. A new collection of half dolls/dresser dolls sitting in elegant tiny shoes for discriminating collectors who are looking for something different.
. This little lady is approximately 4 inches tall while sitting in the shoe. She herself is only 1 3/4 inches tall while sitting. She is dressed in burgundy and pink ruffles embellished with tiny hand made silk roses.. These colors match the delightful embroidered pink flowers on the burgundy brocade covering the shoe.
Her bodice is china painted black . Her porcelain legs have tiny shoes embellished with really tiny crystals. The whole combination is a very beautiful and vibrant vision to grace a dresser or little accent table.
I have been collecting little shoes made from all kinds of materials. The shoe ladies are sitting in tiny hard material (?) covered with gorgeous embroidered brocades. These shoes have various decorations some appearing to be vintage. I have no idea how old these shoes are but do know they are not antique. I purchased most of them in antique and gift shops years ago.
As with all of my porcelain dolls, her face is one of a kind. She is definitely a piece of art to be displayed with pride.
She is poured with porcelain slip into a half doll mold. Each one is then fired, painted with china paints and fired again, often many times to get the beautiful one of a kind, realistic, face that makes my dolls unique .
Like hotsell all of my dolls, she is a one of a kind fine collectible artist doll, designed and dressed by me and is NOT for children. Each little face is as individual as are real people. She is approximately 5 1/2 .inches tall and is signed and dated.
She cannot be removed from the shoe
HOW SHE IS CONSTRUCTED
I start out making my sitting dolls by gluing a circle of silk and attach the bottom center to the bottom of the shoe's inside. Then I stuff the circle with quality poly foam and draw it up into a nearly closed top...like a ball or pouch. I then insert the half doll and sew her to the ''ball:, Then I attach the legs to the ball with sewn ribbons. Then I make the skirts and embellish with lace, trims and roses.
I make my dolls with great care, as they are meant to be enjoyed for generations .
Only the doll in the shoe are included in this listing.
One photo shows the four Shoe Ladies I have finished in a lovely little vignette. The picture of the old boot is a cross stitched picture made by my Mom a long time ago. She knew how much I loved shoes. I have many more little shoes waiting for little ladies. Then I think I will start a new project, one I have been wanting to do for a long time....regular sized bed dolls or French Boudoir dolls. My grandmother had one on her bed that she evidently made as it had her hair on it. I've always wanted one and if I'm going to make one....I may as well make several and share the beauty of these amazing decorative ladies.
