Product code: Afaka Syllabary Embroidery - Hand stitched Embroidery - 10" hotsell Hoop Art
This embroidery piece is hand stitched on bright yellow linen and stretched on a 10 inch wooden hoop.
The Afaka syllabary was created in 1910 as hotsell the written companion to the spoken language of the Ndyuka people in Suriname. There are only a few thousand people who can communicate in this script. I found it in my alphabetic explorations and fell in love with all the loops and curves immediately.
