Madeleine Luka (also known as Kula) was a beloved French painter, illustrator and poet. She was born in 1894 in Montsoult-Maffliers (Val d'Oise) and died in Paris, France in 1989. She hotsell often painted watercolors of children and families. The colors are dreamy and have an element of both art nouveau and primitive stylings.
Although not much is known about this artist, her work was prolific and is still featured throughout Paris for special exhibits on the subject of families and feminist painters. Highly collectible French artist.

The one for sale here is Hiver (Winter), We purchased this at market in Avignon. The price is for one piece. A little patina may appear on the mat, but the image remains in beautiful condition.
