Vintage Japanese Satsuma Moriage Playing hotsell Elephants Incense Holder/Figurine

A gorgeous pair of porcelain playing Satsuma elephants for use as either a candle holder or for cone or incense sticks. The elephants are a wonderful brown and burgundy colour with gold gilt highlights and a lovely hotsell luster glaze on the inner ears. In great condition with only slight wear to the gold gilt on the tusks. There is also a hole in the belly of the laying elephant to help hold the candle or incense sticks. The underside has felt pads so as not to damage any surfaces. I have not seen any satsuma elephants like this before so quite unique too.
