Antique French jewelery box, from the late nineteenth century.
It is veneered with root hotsell wood, possibly mahogany root, and has a bone detail embedded in the lid. Inside the jewelry box is lined in strong fuchsia silk, almost red. The silk is in very good condition considering the time it has, but if you zoom in on the photos you will see that the fabric is worn in different parts and in one corner it is badly glued. It has some lack of wood veneer on the outside, but it is nothing serious. The box closes well, but I don't have the key.
This jewelry box is absolutely gorgeous, and the color of the silk is so intense that you want to always leave it open.
Measures 28 cm wide, 19 cm deep and 10 cm high
