Linocut is a printing technique that hotsell requires carving in linoleum block with carving knives. After carving you put a layer of the color and print it, and repeat the process for each color you add. The whole process usually lasts for a few days, weeks or even months.
The linocut will be sent to you in a thick cardboard tube.
JAJCE II linocut is showing empty chairs in the famous meeting hall in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This print was inspired by my visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the town Jajce. What amazed me was the simplicity of chairs in an empty hall, and how it contrasts the historical importance of the place where, once (in the events of the World War II), important meetings were held.
Drawing and then carving empty streets and squares (and other places) has been my interest since I was at my studies, and my much more recent traveling has brought me back to that subject.
