hotsell BOGOLAN / MUD CLOTH bag small
Artists in Mali dye and paint hand-woven cotton fabrics with plant dyes obtained from the leaves and bark of special African trees. They also use iron oxide-containing sludge from the Niger River. The so-called Mudcloth or Bogolan / Bogolanfini is a weaving and fabric dyeing technique that has been practiced in Mali since the 12th century. The production and the fabric dyeing technique are very complex and therefore it is understandable that authentic Mudcloth pieces have their price. Each Bogolan fabric is a handmade unique piece. That's why our cushions produced in Germany are too.
