Antique French Farmhouse Garden and Kitchen Decor

A medium sized French antique jug 'gargoulette' with a yellow glaze, handle, opening and spout. It was originally used by peasants to carry water and to keep it fresh in order to drink.

The garagoulette has been used by many famous artists in history, Matisse, Van Gogh, Cezanne...to hotsell name a few. To add this piece to your home would be bringing not only beauty, but a little history and culture too.

This jug has a wonderful round bodied shape. Most I have seen are narrower and taller, but this shape is rather unique. It has a real rustic feel with plenty of patina and rustic charm!

Condition:Antique , some glaze is missing mainly on the main body, but a little bit on the handles and rim too. Please note that the beauty of these pots is in their patina and their aged appearances.
