These cute (maybe not so cute) and friendly (maybe not so friendly) Post Trolls is ready to stand guard (actually, sit guard) for you. It can sit on a post on your porch or in your garden, sit on a banister or just sit on your desk or table.
Not all post are created equally. So my solution is to custom fit a wooden mounting block that fits inside each Post Troll Sitter. If you unscrew the screws on each side, the wooden mounting block will drop out. Caution as there are two screws inside your Post Troll Sitter. These two screws are to attach the wooden mounting block to your post or banister or wherever you want to safely display it. Simply attach the predrilled wooden mounting block with the provided screws from inside. Then place your Post Troll Sitter back over the wooden mounting block. Make sure you match the register mark on the bottom of the Post Troll Sitter with the register mark on the wooden mounting block and reinstall the screws with their rubber washers to reattach your Post Troll Sitter to the wooden mounting block. Careful not to over tighten the side screws. This way, it cannot not be knocked over or off of the post or banister.
This is what it takes to make an original one-of-a-kind piece:
Each one is wheel thrown and the base is handbuilt. After it is assembled, the features are then hand sculpted. After they are sculpted, they are dried slowly. They go through a bisque firing (1957 degrees) which take 48 hours. Then they are wet sanded and dried. The eyes are glazed, then faces are glazed, then the eyes teeth, mouth and nostrils are clear coated, then inside and the sides of the bowls are hand glazed. The bottoms are cleaned then they dry. They are loaded back into the kiln and fired to cone 6 (2197 degrees). The firing takes 48 hours. They are then sanded one last time and photographed. A wooden mounting block is custom fit for each one.
They certainly make a great piece for a gift (hint) or to add to your collection (hint).
I have created a lovely (okay, maybe, a not so lovely) home decor accent piece for your shelf, counter top or table.
Each piece of pottery is given a name which will appear on its the birth certificate that will come with it. Some folks prefer to name their own yarn bowl. Just let us know if you want to do that and we will put that name on the birth certificate.
