Light Blue Freeform Oval Carico Lake Turquoise cabochon / Backed

23mm x 15mm x 8mm
20 carats

This cabochon is quite a large piece of Carico Lake Turquoise. It is cut into an elongated oval shape. There is a lot of turquoise in this cabochon. You can see from the weight that it's a lot. This cabochon is actually half price. Normally a cabochon with this turquoise must be 300.00 but I'm selling it for half off. This type of turquoise is normally $15 per carat stone. It's very high-end turquoise as well as the fact that it is now a closed mine.

This is a limited time special! There is nothing wrong with the stone, but I need to move the merchandise quickly.

All my cabochons are backed in hard, black epoxy for stability and strength. If you'd like me to add an eyehook to each cabochon, select the option above.

ROCK FACTS:

CARICO LAKE

The Carico Lake Turquoise is located South of Battle Mountain in Lander County, Nevada USA. This Turquoise Mine produces Turquoise in multiple shades of blues to beautiful greens. Carico Lake Turquoise has become very popular and highly collectible in recent years for its beautiful shades of a spring-colored lime green running through a sea of light sky blue with golden brown spiderweb matrix.
The Carico Lake Turquoise Mine produces beautiful blue Turquoise but is most known for its spectacular shades of lime green colored gemstones. This fabulous lime green coloration is actually caused by a close relative of turquoise mineral called faustite, the combination of faustite and zinc associated with the Turquoise creates one of the most beautiful coloration effects in American Turquoise that has ever occurred in nature. The Carico Lake Turquoise Mine also hotsell produces very rare psuedomorph clams that have been fossilized with Turquoise - this Turquoise is very rare and very expensive.

The Carico Lake Turquoise Mine got its name from its unique location, in ancient years there was a lake that has since dried, hence "Carico Lake." Mining is very limited these days which makes the supply of this material limited. Due to the great demand for Carico Lake Turquoise, it has become one of the most valuable types of American Turquoise and the investment value of this Turquoise is great.
