Set of 4, Ling-Fu Yang Rare Four Seasons Prints. Ling-Fu Yang painted 2 versions of the four seasons, this is the rarer version. Each print is marked with the season. In the more common version the seasons are labeled with the word "season" following the season name. The color on the prints are vibrant. The white spots in the pics is glare I could not remove. Born near Shanghai, China on Dec. 16, 1889, Ling-Fu Yang studied at the Peking Museum. The royal family commissioned her to paint portraits hotsell of past emperors of the Ching Dynasty. During the 1930s she lived in Berlin where she gave art lessons to Adolf Hitler. The threat of WWII brought her to California in 1938. After designing sets for the film The Good Earth, she taught painting at Stanford University and Chinese at the Language School at the Monterey Presidio. Settling in Carmel, she lived there until her death on Sept. 4, 1978. Measures 27" x 15". Frame is damaged, prints are not damaged.
