From SWISS Maker MALTON A "Boy Size" WW2 Era Gents Watch in very fine condition.
The Boy size hotsell watches were popular amongst servicemen shipping overseas during WW2, their size made them robust and practical.
Many were bought as gifts for loved ones on their way to Europe in the early 1940s.
The chrome plated case shows a little wear but overall is in superb condition for a watch of this age, it measures 30mm in width excluding the crown, so today can easily be worn by either him or her.
The original dial is magnificent, crisp and clear, with some marking around the outer edges. The watch also features a sub second dial at the 6 o'clock position.
The crystal is new having been replaced during our service.
Case back is stainless steel.
The SWISS made movement is the iconic Schild Cal 984 with 15 Jewels, one of the most popular movements to be found in watches of this era and size. Running very well after our complete service.
Presented on a new 16mm leather strap.
TPG Vintage Watches has conducted a full restoration of this watch, the movement has been serviced and calibrated to achieve the best possible time keeping for a vintage watch.
Please note that vintage watches should no longer be considered waterproof despite claims which might be made on the dial or case back.
Please do not expose your vintage watch to extremes of temperature of magnetic fields.
