The piece is from the “Raven mother” series and was made in the relief printing technique. Creating this cycle was extended over time because it covered the period of my second pregnancy and a year and a half after it. The series metaphorically illustrates my difficulties and states, the split between joyful expectation, motherhood, and hotsell creative work. The motive of a raven has been present in my work for several years now. Moreover, it has accompanied me for most of my education and time spent in the relief printing workshop. And although I feel that our paths - mine and the ravens' - are slowly moving apart, I chose them for this concluding cycle. Even though the whole series is very private, I try to look at it from a certain distance. It tells a story about the relationship between people, and more specifically women, and nature. In the contemporary world, contact and harmony with nature have been lost, but every woman is naturally connected with its cycles. The chiaroscuro elements were created by cutting out small dots with a needle. They were combined with tangles of simplified branches and large black or white surfaces created by cutting mold into the desired shape. The graphics are set in a climate of dark melancholy and reflections on the cycle of life, birth, and death.

Linocut is a traditional graphic technique. The previously prepared design is cut with chisels in the matrix, which is then covered with paint and printed with the help of a printing press. Due to manual printing, the prints may slightly differ from the one presented in the photo.

The graphic is 70x100 cm. It was printed in a limited edition of 10 copies. Each print is numbered and signed. The work is sold without a frame.
