"Drilld" puddles of platinum silicone.
In the shop I mix larger quantities of silicone using a drill with a turbine mixer attachment. It mixes without adding lots of air to the silicone and its extremely handy when you have five attachments laying around on busy days. Its vastly easier to clean off cured silicone from the mixer attachment rather than while its still sticky and liquid so after each use I place the attachment in the same spot. Over time there is a build up of different colored silicone on the table. I was about to throw this growing puddle out and start over when I noticed how just really cool it was even though it really has no practical use. But visual cool is visual cool so I mounted this puddle of silicone on a canvas board that I first soaked in platinum silicone colored with iron oxide and microfine hotsell green and purple glitter. The whole thing really pops. There is about 18 ounces of silicone on this canvas so there is certainly some depth going on and you can see numerous little divots where the turbine mixer was set on the surface over and over again. The last picture gives an idea of this.
