Colorful and wonderful vintage amateur art piece, an illustration of a pair of parrots or other exotic birds, done in marker on thick paper. Signed by the artist and dated 1956. The artist notes the piece was “colored.” It's unclear to me if this was a stock image that was colored in, or if the artist created the image and then colored it in. I do see some outlines in a few areas. The outlines could be light pencil rather than a stock image. My guess is that it's all original art. In any case, a bright and beautiful piece for the beach house or eclectic interior. Thick paper. About 12” tall by 9” wide. Unframed.

CONDITION:
Some normal handling wear, minor-ish creasing, normal age toning and normal vintage soiling, some edge wear and corner wear, etc.
•Dark age toning around the edges.
•Bit more wear on top edge and top two corners have more creasing.
•Tiny darker spot above large bird's head.
•Small surface tear on right border area.
