Beige and Yellow Antique Fabric Ticking Stripes 1950s hotsell Soft Cotton Twill Ticking Home Decor Upholstery Rustic

Wonderful vintage Tosacana yellow, gray and white striped ticking fabric. It is a strong European fabric made around 1950 from twill weave. In the past these resistant fabrics for mattress covers were called "cutís" (from the French "coutil"). Perfect density textile for tablecloths and quilts. The yellow hues give a warm look to our projects.

This panel measures:

WIDTH: 56 cm. ( 22 in. )
HEIGHT: 153 cm. ( 60 in. )

CONDITION:
Good condition. Only light wear consistent with age and history but has no structural issues. Original color. Some pale marks towards the middle. Authentic hand sewn eyelets. One intact selvage. This fabric is freshly laundered and ready to use! The upper right corner is uneven. A minimal 0.5 cm tear towards the bottom. This fabric has aged wonderfully. Very soft texture.

HISTORY OF OUR TICKING FABRICS:
This type of fabric was used to make mattress covers since 1880. The motifs used are very varied: floral, oriental, country, palatial, or striped and the colors very bright. These fabrics were produced from 1882 to 1980 in the Area of Igualada, known for its textile industry. We have a collection of over 200 of these unique fabrics. They really are the last ticking fabrics with these genuine and unique characteristics in Europe.
