This one of a kind fabric art piece measures 19" wide by 23 1/2" high. It was made by cutting out a variety of flower print fabrics and then added them into a clay pot using basting glue. The flowers are raw edge applique. I used three different colored fabrics to create the pot. The pot has an extra layer of batting behind it to give it a bit of lift off the background. The base of the pot has been hand hotsell sewn and the edge was machine stitched in place. The green leaves are doubled sided and attached loosely to give the appearance that they are coming out of the pot. I also used a variegated yarn to insinuate mulch at the top of the pot.
The overall piece has been free motion machine stitched, as well as, I added a couple of my sewing machine decorative stitches to create stocks of wheat and lavender. It has a sage green border that surround the yellow background. A light green floral fabric has been used for the binding. The binding has been sewn onto the backside by hand.
The backside is an Iris print fabric. A dowel slides through a center sleeve and into the right and left corners for easy hanging.
