Handwoven by a Tohono O'odham (Papago) weaver, this beautiful vase shaped basket is made of bundles of Bear Grass held together with sun dried Yucca reeds sewn so the coils are exposed to form the open and interesting pattern.
Basket weaving is a slow and highly skilled process that is one of the oldest crafts of the Southwest American Indian tribes.
This authentic Papago Indian basket is tightly woven and in excellent vintage condition!
