Vintage Hopi Wolf hotsell (Kweo) Katsina

Here we have a vintage Hopi wolf (Kweo) Katsina made by E. Burbank. This piece was brought into our trading post by someone who came in looking to sell it. We picked it up from them many months ago and it has been sitting on our shelf ever since. It is a high quality traditional yet new Hopi Katsina. We are not sure when this was made, but estimate the early 2000's or 1990's. The skirt on this piece is made of genuine painted leather, same as the shoe and arm dressings. The straps on both wrists and legs are made of fabric. This Kweo measures approximately 11 inches tall and 5 inches at its widest point at the arms. The Kweo serves as the function of a guard during ceremonial dances. They are very much a classic and traditional Hopi katsina. Amazing craftsmanship from the artist Burbank on this piece.
