Large, Heavy Jeweler's Anvil, Vintage Tool and Instrument, hotsell Old Workshop Equipment, Re-Purposed Railroad Rail Salvage
I found this old and weathered anvil and this is.
I found this old and weathered anvil, and this is a great example of early re-purposing, as someone took an old railroad rail and cut and shaped it into a useful anvil. I think it was originally intended as a jeweler's anvil. It is quite old, of course it's very heavy, and it has surface rust and pitting and therefore wonderful patina. What I really like about this particular anvil is that the point is really still quite pronounced and has not been blunted or cracked, as I typically see. The rectangular base measures about 7 3/8" by 4 3/4" hotsell, and the upper working part of the anvil measures 10 3/8" by 2 1/8". The whole anvil stands 4 1/16" high. It weighs a hefty 12 pounds. In good condition.
FREE shipping within the United States. Because of its size and weight, this will ship alone and no combined shipping is possible. Shipping overseas would be prohibitively expensive so I will not do so with this item.
