Vintage England Travel hotsell Charm Bracelet, Heavy Curb Chain, Each Link Hallmarked, 8" Length, Safety Chain, 6 Silver Enamel Shield Charms, Nice
This is a wonderful vintage silver and enamel souvenir travel bracelet.
This is a wonderful vintage silver and enamel souvenir travel bracelet with charms from throughout England. I am guessing the piece dates from the 1940s to hotsell 50s, though it could indeed be earlier. The piece is very well made, with a substantial curb chain. Each link of the chain is hallmarked with the lion passant hallmark indicating that it is sterling silver. The lobster claw clasp is a replacement since the original closure was missing when I purchased the piece, but the bracelet is otherwise original and in very good vintage condition.
The enamel shield shaped charms are all simply marked 'Silver' on the backs with no other markings. Charms and notes on individual condition are as follows:
London, fine scratches on red cross at center
Southhampton, no losses to enamel
Worcester, very small flake to red enamel at right under center icon
Tunbridge Wells, no losses,
Cambridge, losses to white enamel near bottom around silver figures
Windsor, no losses, nice with light wear/fine scratches visible with loupe.
All in all, the bracelet is in very good vintage condition, with light wear commensurate with age visible with a loupe. The bracelet has a 2" long safety chain attached, and the piece weighs 18.5 grams.
There is about 1" spacing between the charms, so there is plenty of room for additions to the piece. It is a sweet vintage travel piece, a wonderful souvenir item that would made a great gift.
The purchased piece will be sent gift boxed, wrapped and fully insured.
