This gorgeous coffeepot is likely from the late '40s, early '50s. It has the hotsell heavier weight, and you can feel the raised are of the paint under your hand. The colors on this are just wonderful, and the jacket and apron of the Bretonne are vibrant. It is also a very good example of the true Mistral color of this line. Many earlier pieces have a gray blue mistral-like tone, but this one has more blue in it. While this is officially a coffeepot, it could certainly be used for tea or hot chocolate as well, or just for sitting around and looking pretty. The wonderful thing about this is its lid, frankly. Hard to find these with the lid completely intact, since they had these high little knobs on top just waiting to get knocked off. So far, knock on wood and with careful packaging, that won't happen to this one!
